Okay so I have a question i’ve been pondering about. What defines a fairy tale. Is it just old texts written from long ago? Or is it more broad, like is a fairy tale just anything that captures the imagination and takes you for a ride? I’m curious because of where i want to take this blog, sometimes i feel that it’s limited. I want to make the followers happy, so what are your definitions of a fairy tale. If we seem to get a decent answer then we’ll take this blog in that direction. Please reply either in this or by ask, doesn’t matter to us just as long as we get an answer.

This Might Not End Well of the Day: Hans Christian Andersen’s “The Little Mermaid” has been picked by Sony to be the latest storybook favorite to get a disturbing reimagination.
A feature film adaptation of Carolyn Turgeon’s book Mermaid: A Twist on the Classic Tale — a “dark retelling” of the classic children’s story — is reportedly in the works.
The Hollywood Reporter offers a synopsis:
It centers on a princess who, in order to save her ravaged kingdom, sets out on a dangerous journey to marry the prince of her rival kingdom, not knowing that a beautiful mermaid has fallen for the same man and has sacrificed everything to be with him.
Country Strong director Shana Feste is set to helm, which may or may not tell you everything you need to know about much worse this could still get.
